Fellowship Church - Wellington, Ohio

We believe there is only one true God. He is Holy, Ominpotent, Omnipresent, Omniscient. He is gracious, loving and merciful. He is soveriegn and in control of all things. He is active in the believers life and draws people to Himself through His risen Son Jesus Chrsit.
Genesis 1:1, Exodus 3:14, John 1:1-5

We believe God created the heavens and the earth in six days and on the
seventh day He rested. He spoke, the worlds were framed and “it was good.”
Genesis 1&2

We believe God created man in his own image. Man was created perfect or without sin. Man disobeyed God in the garden of Eden so man was seperated from God by sin thus began the curse of sin.
Genesis 1&3

We believe sin is a direct disobedience to God and His Word. Its origin began with Satan who was once an angel and now fallen. Satan deceived Adam and Eve and their sin was passed onto all men. Sin separates us from God, brings forth death and enternal judgement in Hell. Sin must be forgiven for any person to have fellowship with God.
Romans 3:10, 3:23. Revelation 12:7-9

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin and is equal with God. He is the second person of the Trinity and has always existed. He is the only one who could die for the sins of man to give us salvation. He is the only way of salvation. He is the Rock of the church. He sits at the right hand of the Father and will come again for the saints very soon.
Luke 2, John 10:10, John 14:6

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He is equal with God the Father and God the Son. Heis a person. He indwells and seals every person who put their faith in Jesus Christ. He convicts of sin. He leads us down the path of righteousness. He helps us understand the Word and empowers the believer for everyday living and ministry.
John 14, 15, 16. Ephesians 4:30

We believe the Bible or Scriptures is Gods Holy Word. It is inspired. We believe the Spirit of God spoke to men and they wrote down exactly what God said. The Scriptures are the foundation for every believers life. The Scriptures are the authority for the church to follow.
II Timothy 3:16, 17. II Peter 1:21

We believe in the Trinity of the Godhead. God the Father and God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. They are equal and have no beginning or end.
Matthew 3:16,17. John 1:1-4, 14, I John 5:7

We believe the church consists of all the saved. When you accept Christ into your life then you are placed into His body of believers, the church. Christ loved the church and gave his life for it. We believe in the local church. God uses the local church to share the message of Salvation, disciple believers, be the salt and light on this earth and to bring glory to his name. To be a member of a local body a person must be saved and baptized.
Matthew 16:18. Ephesians 5:22-33

We believe salvation is the sovereign work of God. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Christ died for the sins of man, took our place and punishment for our sin, so our sins could be forgiven. He rose again to conquer sin and death so we could have eternal life.
Faith in Jesus Christ alone is the only way to be saved. We are not saved by our works or baptism. We cannot lose our salvation.
John 3:3,16,17. Romans 10:9,10,13. Ephesians 2:8,9

We believe a saved person cannot lose their salvation. Salvation is a gift of God's grace that cannot be obtained by works or kept by works. When Christ saves us, the Holy Spirit indwells the believer and seals the believer. When a believers sins, God is grieved and we lose close fellowship with God and blessing, but we do not lose our salvation. John 14, 15, 16; Galatians 1, 2: Ephesians 2:8, 9

We believe Jesus rose from the dead physically, was seen of over 500 brethren, ascended up into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God. We have eternal life and do not have to fear death or dying because Jesus is alive.
John 10:17, 18. I Corinthians 15:1-11

We practice two church ordinances, Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe in baptism by immersion. A believer should be baptized after salvation as an act of testimony of their faith in Jesus Christ. Baptism is a wonderful picture of our Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection. Communion is a humble time of remembrance. We remember that Christ shed his blood and his body was broken for us. Matthew 3:13-17. Acts 2:41. Luke 22:19, 20. I Corinthians 11;23-33

We believe when we accept Christ into our life we are sanctified or set apart. Every believer should obey Gods Word and do their best to live a holy life to glorify God. We should be in the world but not of the world.
2 Corinthians 6:17. I Peter 3:15

We believe in a literal Heaven where God is seated on the throne and Jesus is at his right hand. Jesus is there preparing a place for all who have put their faith in him. We believe in a literal hell. This is a place of torment prepared for Satan, his demons and all those who reject the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  It is important to understand, God does not send anyone to Hell! Mans sin and rejection of Jesus Christ has put man in that position. God has provided a way of salvation.
John 14:1-6. Luke 16

We believe Christ will return for his saints before the great tribulation. He taught this promise to his disciples.
John 14, I Thessalonians 4:13-18. I Corinthians 15:51-58
